Data fabric company DataStreams announced on the 13th that it has funded scholarships worth 10 million won for Gangneung Yeongdong University.
CEO Lee Young-Sang, Son Yeon-ki, the vice president of Gangneung Yeongdong University, and Kim Joo-baek attended the scholarship ceremony held at the DataStreams headquarters in Seocho, Seoul.
This scholarship ceremony is part of a follow-up project, the two parties having signed an MOU with Gangneung Yeongdong University in December last year, with the primary goal to educate on AI and identify big data talents. Moving forward, scholarships will be provided to students of DataStreams' online integrated education platform "DS Academy" with the aim of fostering customized talent while also providing opportunities to work for DataStreams.
Mr Lee revealed, "I have always wanted to share this with students while working in the big data business and acquiring knowledge for the last 20 years. Recently, I discussed the idea of industry-academic cooperation with Astana IT University in Kazakhstan, and we will develop the DS Academy based on cooperation with Gangneung Yeongdong University.
Through these scholarships funded by DataStreams, we will nurture gifted students who will no doubt be a valuable addition to the data industry.” Vice President Sohn Yeon-ki added, "We will endeavor to teach students everything they need to know about this exciting industry."
