[ITDaily] DataStreams announced on the 8th that it was selected as the 1st choice bidder in the field of infectious diseases
(2022 big data platform and center construction project- budget for the project is around 7 billion won) held by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Intelligence and Social Agency (NIA).
DataStreams is currently negotiating with NIA regarding the fulfilment of the project and is scheduled to sign a formal agreement by the end of June.
DataStreams has signed up for a consortium with the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the National Medical Center, Catholic University Medical School, Seoul National University, the Bank of Korea, and SK Telecom to build big data platforms and centers for infectious diseases.
As part of the development of the AI and big data industries, which are the core drivers of the 4th industrial revolution, the government will promote the provision of scientific evidence for medical system stability, vaccine and new drug development, the convergence of big data in disease, communication, economy, and medical fields.
Another of the project's aims is to contribute to the creation of a foundation for revitalizing the data industry. It will do so by establishing an intensive and proactive response and prediction system for infectious disease pandemics and providing an open-use environment for data through the AI-based infectious disease response prediction model.
DataStreams, a big data company that has data integration, data governance, and big data solutions, will be able to further expand its business in the AI field thanks to this project.
As part of the project, DataStreams will continue to develop AI medical data application services through cooperation with KIST, the National Cancer Center, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Seoul National University, CEO Lee Young-Sang confirmed.
Lee Dong-Hyun, managing director of DataStreams AI Research Group, who will be in charge of the project, said, "The new AI big data platform applied with AI new technology has been highly evaluated and will be an important cornerstone DataStreams' goal to become an AI company."
DataStreams has also acquired a patent for a technology that uses a data catalog to inquire about datasets and provide automatic recommendation information to users by applying an AI recommendation model. It is also planning to release, at the end of this year, "TeraONE IDEA," a machine learning operation (MLOps) product that supports the distribution, maintenance, and management of AI models stably and efficiently in a production environment.
